Foundation

Foundation of the linen cooperative in Vändra – the starting point of Wendre.

1965

Industrial production

Industrial production begins; first major production expansion.

1971

Textile industry framework

Company operates under the Textile Industry framework – scale and structure take shape.

1978

Expansion and modernization

Expansion of production capacity and modernization of facilities.

1993

Company renamed to Wendre

The beginning of pillow and quilt production.

1996

Modern Wendre era

Peter Hunt acquires majority ownership – modern Wendre era begins.

1998

WenFom, starts to process foam

Focus shifts strongly to export markets and international business.

2001

ISO900L certificate

Major technology investments; competitiveness significantly improves.

Wendre new facility is built

Wendre buys a factory in Wuxi, China

Expansion to Poland

Expansion to Poland – Wendre Poland becomes a key production hub.

Familon brand

Familon brand consolidated and strengthened within the group.

Factory expansion

Wendre acquires Geska Bettwarenfabrik GmbH

GISELA HUNT

Wendre Group is owned by the Hunt Family, with 100% ownership.

Gisela and Peter built an international business with its origins in many years of experience as a major sportswear vendor. In 1996 they acquired shares in Wendre and the company began its transition into an international corporation with an worldwide sales network, and they gained full ownership in 2002.

The Wendre Group, which is composed of Wendre Estonia and Poland, Wendre Finland Oy, golf resorts Pärnu Bay Golf Links, Saare Golf and the nutrition products company Indevex, belongs to Trading House Scandinavia, a conglomerate that has over the years become the leader in its fields.
